February 5, 2007 - Former Rockford College catcher Steve Ketter is crossing the state line.
Windy City announced it had traded Ketter to Gary of the independent Northern League as the player to be named in a previous transaction. Ketter, a rookie in 2006, hit .219 with a home run and 21 RBI in 65 games. In addition, the T-Bolts and RailCats pulled off a similar transaction. Windy City acquired pitcher Ryan Brandt from Gary for a player to be named.
River City traded first baseman Chris Brown to Coastal Bend of the American Association for third baseman Wilson Burwell.
