February 1, 2007 - Mike Madrid, one of the RiverHawks' most notorious opponents, is out of the Frontier League.

River City has traded the veteran first baseman to St. Joe of the American Association for future considerations. Madrid, 26, had one year of Frontier League eligibility remaining.

Since he came over from Chillicothe in May 2004, Madrid is a career .311 hitter (38-for-122), with eight home runs and 31 RBI. He has an overall .294 average in five professional seasons.
