January 9, 2007 - Cal Ripken, Jr. topped all players in Hall of Fame voting on the RockfordRiverHawks.com poll.
Ripken edged Mark McGwire, 49 votes to 45, with Alan Trammell at 44. Ripken and Tony Gwynn, fourth at 28 in the fan poll, were the only players to win election in the official balloting by the BBWAA.
FanFest guest Lee Smith received 10 votes and former Cub Andre Dawson 23 in the poll. |
