September 25, 2006 - RiverHawks bench coach Bob Koopmann is the new baseball coach at Rockford College.
Koopmann, who led the RiverHawks to the 2004 Frontier League pennant, left the club following the season to become head coach at Ashford University, a NAIA school in Clinton, Iowa. Koopmann returned to the RiverHawks staff this year.
Koopmann, who coached at Illinois Valley Community College before his two seasons with Ashford, is a head coach in the NCAA for the first time. The Regents are a Division III school.
