RiverHawks trade shortstop for pitcher

August 1, 2006 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks today announced they had traded shortstop Olmo Rosario to San Angelo of the United League in exchange for pitcher John Smith.

In a separate deal, the RiverHawks also announced they had sold Human Bowling, a longtime on-field promotion, to the Colts.

The RiverHawks state that the legitimate trade of the players was made based on the players’ ability, character and contributions to the game. The team wishes to emphasize that the sell of the on-field promotion is a separate transaction.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 10-team independent professional baseball league in its 14th season in 2006.
