August 28, 2010 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Friday’s capacity crowd set a new standard for sellout success at Road Ranger Stadium.

The crowd of 3,518 was the Rockford RiverHawks’ 12th home sellout of the season, a new team record. They drew 3,876 on Saturday, their 13th full house.

“The investment our ownership made in upgrading our product for the Northern League has paid off,” general manager Josh Olerud said. The RiverHawks, who have been in the Stateline since the 2002 season, moved from the Frontier League after last season. “New fans have been attracted by the increased level of play as well as the quality of our brand of affordable family entertainment. Our longtime fans recognize the value of the brand is better than ever.”

The RiverHawks have drawn 118,112 through 40 dates, an average of 2,953.

“We appreciate the support of fans and the partnership of the Stateline business community,” Olerud said. “We wouldn’t enjoy this level of success without their commitment to the RiverHawks.”

The old record of 11 sellouts was set in 2008. The RiverHawks had 10 sellouts in 2009. The RiverHawks have lost six gates to rain this year.

The RiverHawks are members of the Northern League, an eight-team independent professional baseball league in its 18th season.
