Playoff push begins for RiverHawks

August 9, 2010 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks return home for a four-game, three-day homestand against the Joliet Jackhammers, after they completed a three-game sweep at Fargo-Moorhead. Rockford is just three games back of the JackHammers and Winnipeg Goldeyes for the final playoff spot.

All the action begins at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday at Road Ranger Stadium. The RiverHawks and JackHammers make up a rain out from June 13. Gates open at 5 p.m. with game two scheduled to start approximately 30 min after the conclusion of the first game. It is a two for Tuesday, where you can buy two tickets for the price of one. It is also Road Ranger customer appreciation day, stop by any area Road Ranger stores to pick up a voucher for free tickets.

Wednesday is a Rock River Valley Blood Center “Straight to the Heart Wednesday”. Fans can receive tickets by donating blood at any RRVBC location. It is also Sharefest appreciation night. Game time is 7:05 p.m.

The RiverHawks host the JackHammers in the series finale Thursday. It’s another 2nd Cousin’s Bar and Grill and Miller Lite dollar beer night. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.

The RiverHawks are members of the Northern League, an eight-team independent professional baseball league in its 18th season.
