RiverHawks’ James MVP as Northern wins, 9-3

July 15, 2010 - TUCSON, Ariz. – Jason James was a hit at Wednesday’s interleague all-star game.

The Rockford RiverHawks' center fielder was named Most Valuable Player in the Northern League All-Stars’ 9-3 win over the Golden League at Hi Corbett Field in Tucson. James was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.

The Northern League scored three runs in the first inning and led the rest of the way. Rockford closer Scott Roehl pitched the final two innings and gave up a run in the ninth. Roehl gave up two hits and struck out one.

The RiverHawks are members of the Northern League, an eight-team independent professional baseball league in its 18th season.
