Jr. RiverHawks win tournament

July 12, 2010 - BURLINGTON, Wis. - The Jr. RiverHawks won another tournament, taking the Battle of the Titans tournament Sunday. The Jr. RiverHawks play in Rockford’s Boys and Girls Club 13U and have an overall record of 42-18. The Jr. RiverHawks will be competing in several more tournaments this summer to finish out their 80 game schedule.

The RiverHawks’ next home game is 7:05 p.m. Thursday when they host the Lake County Fielders. The annual Muscular Dystrophy Association jersey auction, featuring Jacksonville Jaguars safety and Byron native Sean Considine, will immediately follow the game. It’s also Miller Lite/2nd Cousin’s Dollar Beer Night. The 2nd annual Guns vs. Hoses charity softball game is scheduled for 2-5 p.m. It’s also Rockford Chamber Night, Byron Community Night and Jimmy Buffet Night.

The RiverHawks are members of the Northern League, an eight-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 18th season this summer.
