March 29, 2010 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Youths can spring break learning baseball fundamentals from fan favorite Rich Austin.

The Rockford RiverHawks announced Monday that they have scheduled the third annual Rich Austin Spring Training Clinic. The clinic, open to players ages 7-13, is scheduled for 9 a.m.-noon April 5-7 at Road Ranger Stadium.

The camp’s focus will be throwing, hitting and defense. Austin, the 2004 Frontier League MVP and a pennant winner on two continents, along with other players with professional experience, will demonstrate the drills necessary to become a better player.

The cost of the camp is $50 per youth. Parents can drop off their children as early as 8:30 a.m.

The RiverHawks’ ninth season begins at 7:05 p.m. May 20 against the Schaumburg Flyers at Road Ranger Stadium. Advertising and ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255.
