RiverHawks schedule summer clinic

March 15, 2010 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Area baseball players can learn basic fundamentals from Rockford’s only professional baseball team.

The Rockford RiverHawks announced on Monday that they have scheduled the RiverHawks Summer Baseball Clinic for June 21-24 at Road Ranger Stadium.

The clinic will cover all aspects of the game that the professionals do on a day-to-day basis. Special focus will be placed on defense, hitting, throwing and live game situations. Instructors include RiverHawks Rich Austin , along with former RiverHawks Tony Pigott and Josh Tomsu. All were Frontier League All-Stars with Rockford and are among the team’s all-time leaders in many statistical categories.

The camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Early drop off begins at 8:30 a.m.

The camp cost of $65 per camper includes a free T-shirt and a ticket to a RiverHawks game.

The RiverHawks are members of the Northern League, an eight-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 18th season in 2010.
