January 14, 2010 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks and CoCo Key Water Resort are teaming up to give families an early taste of summer.

The RiverHawks announced Thursday that they have scheduled their Rocko’s Kids Club Splash Off for 12-3 p.m. Jan. 31 at CoCo Key Water Resort, 7801 E. State St. The event is exclusive to members of the club and their family and friends.

Visitors can ride the waves at the 65,000-square foot indoor water park, which features three 40-foot water slides, a tube ride, a wading pool for babies and toddlers and more. It’s always a balmy 84 degrees. In addition, CoCo Key, located at the Best Western Clock Tower Resort, includes a large arcade and dining.

Admission is free to kids who have signed up for 2010 memberships in Rocko’s Kids Club. Up to four relatives and friends can join them for $10. A one-day $10 arcade card can be purchased for $5. Food and drink specials will be offered as well.

Raffles will be held for prizes, including CoCo Key passes and an overnight stay at the Clock Tower Resort.

Both new Kids Club members, and 2009 members who have yet to renew, can sign up at the gate and get into the event for free. The club, open to kids 12 and younger, costs just $20 and includes a membership T-shirt, tickets to 10 games, admission to the RiverHawks pregame youth clinics this summer, and more.

The RiverHawks are members of the Northern League, an eight-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 18th season in 2010. The RiverHawks’ ninth season begins at 7:05 p.m. May 20 against the Schaumburg Flyers at Road Ranger Stadium. Advertising and ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Games are broadcast live on ESPN 1380 (WTJK-AM) and the internet. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
