RiverHawks offer discounts to veterans
« Back

November 11, 2009 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks are showing their appreciation of veterans through exclusive offers this month.

The RiverHawks are offering season tickets to veterans at a 10-percent discount through the end of November. In addition, the team has added camouflage caps to its $10 clearance through the end of the month.

"Baseball has had a long relationship with veterans,” general manager Josh Olerud said. “Some of our greatest players - Ted Williams and Bob Feller to name just a couple - have served their country in the armed forces in time of conflict. What we're doing is just a small gesture, but we felt it was important to let our Stateline vets know how much we appreciate them."

Veterans need to show U.S. military identification to receive the ticket discount. The cap discount is open to all. All of the team’s Frontier League-era caps, fitted and adjustable, are already on $10 clearance.

The RiverHawks are members of the Northern League, an eight-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 18th season in 2010. The RiverHawks’ ninth season begins at 7:05 p.m. May 20 against the Schaumburg Flyers at Road Ranger Stadium. Advertising and ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Games are broadcast live on ESPN 1380 (WTJK-AM) and the internet. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
