May 29, 2009 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Lake Erie scored four times in the eighth inning and four times in the ninth on Friday to turn a tie game into a blowout. The Crushers beat Rockford, 12-5, to keep the RiverHawks winless at Road Ranger Stadium.

Robbie Knapp hit a home run in a losing effort, in front of a crowd of 2,538, the largest of the season. Rockford has lost five in a row.

The Crushers broke a 4-4 tie with an eighth-inning rally against the Rockford bullpen. Drew Saylor’s sacrifice attempt was thrown away for a run-scoring error. Andrew Davis tripled home two runs and scored on Tim Binkoski’s sacrifice fly.

The Rockford bullpen was roughed up for eight runs in two innings. Matt Enderle (0-1) faced only one batter, but took the loss.

Cristobal Mata (1-2) won in relief. He gave up Knapp’s drive to the right-field beer garden, Knapp’s second home run of the year, in the seventh inning. Arden McWilliams had homered in the top of the inning to break a 3-3 tie.

Rockford starter Brett Durand struck out a career-high eight and walked only one, but received a no-decision.
