Thrilling festivities planned for home opener

May 23, 2009 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Excitement is building for the Rockford RiverHawks’ home opener on Tuesday, May 26. The RiverHawks play host to the Midwest Sliders of Ypsilanti at 7:05 p.m.


Fans will be treated to a slew of exciting events, including a military flyover, a Dixieland jazz band, and postgame fireworks. The greater Rockford community continues to lend its support for the RiverHawks’ eighth season. Opening Night is sponsored by the Chicago-Rockford International Airport, Cumulus Broadcasting, and WTVO-Channel 17.


Tickets are selling fast for the anticipated sellout, but seats are still available. Fans can purchase tickets online anytime at www.rockfordriverhawks.com any time or via phone at (815) 885-BALL. They can also visit the box office at Road Ranger Stadium, which will be open during the Memorial Day holiday this Monday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.


The Rockford RiverHawks are the most highly attended minor-league baseball team in the Stateline. The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league playing its 17th season.
