April 17, 2009 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Fans who have been waiting all winter for single-game sales of Rockford RiverHawks tickets can exhale. The team announced Friday that they will release tickets for individual purchase at 7 a.m. April 30.

Tickets for the entire 48-game regular-season schedule, the July 14 Cubs-White Sox Legends Game and the July 15 Frontier League All-Star Game will be available at the box office, by phone or on the team website at that time.

“If you haven’t bought your season ticket plan or booked your group outing, now is the time, as tickets will be first come, first serve for the rest of the summer,” general manager Josh Olerud said.

Until April 30, the only way fans can guarantee tickets to Opening Night, the Legends Game, the All-Star Game and other in-demand nights is by purchasing a season ticket, mini-season plan or bonus book. Ticket plans begin at just $40.

“We encourage fans to take advantage of a once in a lifetime event, as it is a very rare privilege to be able to host an all-star game,” Olerud said.

Last year, the RiverHawks sold out a record 11 games and averaged 85 percent of capacity. They drew a record 138,234 for the season.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 17th season this summer. The RiverHawks will begin their eighth season at 7:05 p.m. May 21 at Windy City and play their home opener at 7:05 p.m. May 26 against the Midwest Sliders of Ypsilanti. The RiverHawks host the 2009 Frontier League All-Star Game at 7:05 p.m. on July 15. Advertising and season-ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
