September 9, 2008 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks announced Tuesday that they have released catcher Mike Scripture.
Scripture, a rookie from Newman University, spent his rookie season with the RiverHawks. He batted .204 with a home run and nine RBI in 35 games.
The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 17th season in 2009. The RiverHawks will host the Frontier League All-Star Game at 7:05 p.m. July 15, 2009. Advertising and season-ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255.
