August 19, 2008 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks open their last homestand of the season on Tuesday. They’ll be home for nine games over the next 10 days with promotions that include duffel bag, blanket and back-to-school kit giveaways, two fireworks nights and a pair of dollar beer nights.
The RiverHawks host Florence Tuesday-Thursday, Chillicothe Friday-Sunday and Evansville Aug. 26-28. Gametimes are 7:05 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 6:05 p.m. Sunday.
Tuesday is Throw Cancer A Curveball Night, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
Thursday is another installment of the Miller Lite/104.9 – the X Dollar Beer Night. It’s also Rockford Chamber Night, Military Appreciation Night and ‘70s Night.
Friday is University of Wisconsin-Platteville/Q98.5 RiverHawks Duffel Bag Night. It’s also another installment of the FatWallet.com Friday Night Fireworks Series.
Saturday is Rock Valley College/WIFR RiverHawks Fleece Blanket Night. It’s also Ladies Night, sponsored by Gold Canyon, Mary Kay, Barefoot Wines and Ronnie Gators.
Sunday is Mincemoyer Jewelry/WREX Back-to-School Kits for the first 500 fans. It’s also NCO Night and Kmart/B103 Family Night. Kids can run the bases after the game.
In addition, Sunday’s game is All Faiths Night. Christian singer Brooke Barrettsmith will perform a concert and celebrate the release of her self-titled debut album after the game.
Aug. 26 is the final Saturn of Rockford Youth Clinic of the season. Players will instruct youngsters 12 and under starting at 5 p.m.
Aug. 28 is the home finale and the annual Fan Appreciation Night. Wheels by RT sponsors postgame fireworks. It’s also the final Thirsty Thursday of the season.
