Knapp leads RiverHawks to win against old team

August 6, 2008 - WASHINGTON, Pa. – Robbie Knapp was 3-for-5 and drove in two runs against his former team on Wednesday as the Rockford RiverHawks beat Washington, 11-3.

The RiverHawks scored three times in the top of the first inning on run-scoring hits by Knapp and Matt Mazurek and led the rest of the way. Jono Brooks hit a home run in the second inning and Rockford led, 7-0, after 3 ½ innings.

Rockford starter Garrett Bauer (8-4) earned his 21st career win with the RiverHawks. He needs two to match Tanner Watson for the all-time lead. Washington starter Jim Wladyka (0-1) took the loss.

Gerard Haran homered for the Wild Things.

The series finale is at 7:05 p.m. Friday. The RiverHawks come home for a six-night homestand that starts with a 6:05 p.m. doubleheader against Midwest on Friday. The FatWallet.com Friday Night Fireworks Series will take place between games of the doubleheader.
