August 3, 2008 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks announced prior to Sunday’s game that they had activated pitcher Chris Langlois from the retired list and placed catcher Robert Sabates on the 14-day disabled list.
Langlois was with the RiverHawks in spring training in an effort to return from a broken arm, but retired before the season. He was 2-1 with a 2.91 ERA in three appearances last year with Yuma of the independent Golden League. Langlois has 1-Year status in the Frontier League.
Sabates fouled a ball off his foot on Saturday and suffered a severely sprained ankle with a bone bruise.
The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 16th season. Advertising and ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Most games are broadcast live on WNTA (1330 AM) and the internet. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
