June 30, 2008 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The RiverHawks activated infielder Brandon Cohen from the retired list and signed left-handed pitcher Taylor Sinclair Monday.

Cohen missed the first 38 games of the season with a broken hamate bone. He hit nine home runs in just 139 at-bats last season with the RiverHawks.

Sinclair started 11 games in 13 appearances for the University of Northern Iowa in 2008. He compiled a 6-3 record with a 4.62 ERA and one save.

To make room on the roster, the RiverHawks released infielder Scott Talbert and outfielder Ryan Czyz. Talbert played in 12 games and compiled a .238 batting average with one home run and five RBI. Czyz appeared in 14 games and batted .250 with one home run and two RBI.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 16th season this summer.
