RiverHawks sign right-hander

June 22, 2008 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The RiverHawks signed right-handed pitcher Tim Flattery on Sunday.

Flattery takes the roster spot of right-hander Shawn Balteff, who was placed on the disabled list Saturday.

Flattery posted the lowest ERA at the University of Northern Iowa in 2008. He appeared in 24 games, including three starts, and earned a 4-0 record with a 3.00 ERA and one save. In 51 innings, he struck out 44 and walked 23.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 16th season this summer.
