RiverHawks begin six game homestand

June 13, 2008 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Following a six-game road trip, the Rockford RiverHawks begin a six-game homestand tonight at Road Ranger Stadium.

The RiverHawks play host to the Kalamazoo Kings at 7:05 p.m. tonight in the first game of a three-game series. It’s a fatwallet.com Friday night, and the second set of RiverHawks baseball cards will be given away sponsored by Culvers and WXRX. It’s also Halloween in June night, and fans are encouraged to wear costumes to the game. Postgame fireworks follow the conclusion of the game. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Game 2 against the Kings is at 7:05 p.m. Saturday. Principal Financial Group sponsors Family Fun Fest with Q98.5, featuring a traveling baseball carnival from 4-7 p.m.

At 6:05 p.m. Sunday, the RiverHawks and Kings close out their three-game set. OSF St. Anthony’s and WREX sponsor youth gloves night, while K-Mart and B103 sponsor Family Fun Night. Kids have the opportunity to run the bases after the game. Gates open at 5 p.m.

The Gateway Grizzlies come to Road Ranger Stadium for a three-game set starting at 7:05 p.m. Monday. Game two is at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

At 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, the Grizzlies and RiverHawks finish the homestand. New Vision Laser Center and Applebee’s sponsor Reading Club Night. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 16th season this summer.
