RiverHawks set to start seven-game homestand

May 30, 2008 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – After the season’s first road trip, the RiverHawks are back at Road Ranger Stadium.

A seven-game homestand kicks off with a fatwallet.com Friday with the first game of a three-game series against the Southern Illinois Miners at 7:05 p.m. RiverHawks baseball cards will be given away sponsored by Culver’s and WXRX, and fireworks follow the game.

Game two of the series is at 7:05 p.m. Saturday. It’s Ladies Night at the ballpark, and T-shirts will be given away courtesy of K-Mart and Q98.5

The series wraps up with a Family Fun Night at 6:05 p.m. Sunday, sponsored by K-Mart, Coon Creek Casters, B103 and WREX. Kids run the bases after the game, and growth charts will be given away courtesy of Rockford Health Systems and WREX.

The RiverHawks host Windy City at 7:05 p.m. Monday.

On Tuesday, Rockford welcomes in Traverse City for a three-game series. Game one is at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday, and kids will have the opportunity to participate in a youth clinic before the game sponsored by Saturn of Rockford Service Center.

Game two is at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday. New Vision Laser Center and Applebee’s sponsor Reading Club Night at the ballpark.

The homestand concludes with a 7:05 p.m. contest Thursday and Jimmy Buffet Night. One dollar Miller Lite beers will be for sale, while the RiverHawks will wear their camouflage jerseys in honor of Military Appreciation Night.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 16th season this summer.
