Brewers Racing Sausages to appear at opener
« Back

May 15, 2008 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The world-famous Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club Racing Sausages will appear May 21 at Road Ranger Stadium for the Rockford RiverHawks’ season opener.

“The sausages are iconic in Milwaukee,” said RiverHawks director of ticketing Brad Sholes, a Wisconsin native and longtime fan of the Racing Sausages. “They are a traditional part of the Brewers experience and are growing in fame around the country. They have been often imitated, but never duplicated. It is an honor to bring them to this side of the state line.”

Opening Night is at 7:05 p.m. May 21, when the RiverHawks host River City. Three sausages will meet – no pun intended – fans and sign autographs from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on the concourse. The three will later run their famous sausage race between innings during the game.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 16th season this summer. Advertising and season-ticket information is available by calling the box office at (815) 885-2255. Most games are broadcast live on WNTA (1330 AM) and the internet. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
