April 30, 2008 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Fans have the opportunity to pick out a great location to watch professional baseball this summer.
The Rockford RiverHawks have announced their plans for their annual Meet Your Seat Day. The event will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 at Road Ranger Stadium. Fans can pick their favorite spot while purchasing a season ticket or a five-, 10- or 20-game mini-season plan.
“It’s your last chance to pick out a premier location to watch the RiverHawks this summer,” general manager Josh Olerud said.
Visitors to the stadium that day will receive free hot dogs and soda. Parking at the stadium will also be free.
Highlights of the event also include: a chance to play catch on the field, weather permitting; the RiverHawks Kids Zone inflatables will be open; baseball will be shown on the state-of-the art video scoreboard.
Fans will also be able to scout out great sightlines for watching baseball, because the team’s open tryout will wrap up during the event.
Single-game tickets are not yet available, so the only way to guarantee a seat for Opening Night, Friday Night Fireworks, premium-giveaway nights or other high-demand games is by purchasing a ticket plan.
Opening Night is at 7:05 p.m. May 21, when the RiverHawks host River City. The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 16th season this summer.
