RiverHawks seek video operations staff

April 23, 2008 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks are seeking video-operations staff.

The RiverHawks are entering their seventh season in Rockford and their third season in a new, state-of-the-art minor-league baseball facility with a video scoreboard. The intern will gain valuable, hands-on experience while overseeing the entire multimedia production department.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: multimedia production department, creating and editing content for the jumbotron, directing video cameras during games, updating player stats and profiles, training and supervising video staff, coordinating game-day script, maintaining multimedia equipment and working closely with front-office staff on all multimediarelated issues. Experience in video production, directing, and Adobe Photoshop preferred but not required.

Open positions include camera operators, video room coordinator, message board operator and video room operator.

“It’s a tremendous opportunity to gain valuable experience and exposure in the sports and multimedia industry,” said former intern Mark Knuth. Knuth spent the 2006 season as the team’s video operations intern and is now with TrialGraphix as their Technology Production Coordinator.

“This is a very proactive internship, offering a chance to really showcase your talent,” he said. “Spending a championship season with the RiverHawks was incredible and one that I’ll never forget!”

Opening Night is at 7:05 p.m. May 21, when the RiverHawks host River City at Road Ranger Stadium. The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 16th season this summer.
