April 7, 2008 - DAYTONA, Fla. – Former Rockford RiverHawk Reed Dickert lost his debut with the Milwaukee Brewers’ high Class A affiliate on Friday.

Dickert, who pitched two innings, was hit for three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning and took the defeat as the Brevard County Manatees lost, 9-8, at Daytona in a Florida State League game.

Dickert made two starts, both against Kalamazoo, after he arrived in a late-August trade from Orange County, where he was 6-3 with a 4.62 ERA and struck out 112 in 85 2/3 innings in the independent Golden League. In his Frontier League debut, Dickert struck out 14 and pitched a 2-0, two-hit shutout at Kalamazoo. Two days later, he got a no-decision as the RiverHawks took a 2-1, walkoff win against the Kings in the season’s final game and edged Kalamazoo for the wild card.
