RiverHawks trade for third baseman

April 4, 2008 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks announced Friday that they have acquired third baseman Rob Recuenco from the Edmonton Cracker-Cats in exchange for a player to be named later.

Recuenco, 25, hit .269 with two home runs and 35 RBI in 219 at-bats in the independent Northern League last season, his first as a professional. He has 1-Year status in the Frontier League.

Opening Night is at 7:05 p.m. May 21, when the RiverHawks host River City at Road Ranger Stadium. The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 16th season this summer.
