Brnardic to return

January 21, 2008 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks announced Monday that they have picked up the 2008 option on pitcher Ryan Brnardic.

The right-handed reliever has spent parts of the last two seasons with the team. Last year, Brnardic had no record and no saves, but a career-low 3.15 earned-run average in a career-high 26 appearances.

Baltimore picked Brnardic in the 31st round of the 2003 draft and he spent the following two seasons in rookie ball. Brnardic pitched for Winnipeg of the Northern League in 2005. He has a career 5-4 record with a 4.47 ERA as a professional.

Brnardic has Rookie-2 status in the Frontier League.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 16th season this summer.
