RiverHawks offer reading benefits to students
« Back

October 24, 2007 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks are offering benefits to good readers in area schools.

The RiverHawks announced their “Read Around the Bases” program Wednesday.

In the program, a student earns a base hit for reading one book. A total of 10 books earned the student a free ticket to any Wednesday home game in 2008. A teacher, parent or librarian must initial the Reading Club card each time a book is read.

Reading club cards are available by contacting Erin Colombi at the RiverHawks office.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 16th season in 2008. Advertising and season-ticket information is available by calling the box office at (815) 885-2255. Most games are broadcast live on WNTA (1330 AM) and the internet. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
