RiverHawks to sponsor benefit for leukemia victim

September 13, 2007 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks and LaMonica Beverages will co-sponsor a benefit for the victim of leukemia and his family.

The Ryan Finley Memorial Benefit is scheduled for 3 p.m.-midnight Sunday, Sept. 23 at C.J.’s Lounge, 300 E. State St. in Rockford. C.J.’s will sell Bud and Bud Light for just $2 during the event. The event includes food, a silent auction, raffles and entertainment. The list of artists include: Steve Cheney, Midwestern Death, Omega Battalion and The Moment. All proceeds benefit the family of Ryan Finley and the Leukemia/Lymphoma Foundation.

Tickets are $4 in advance, $5 on the day of the event and may be purchased at C.J.’s Lounge.

Finley was diagnosed with Stage 3 Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma in June 2006. In April of 2007, he was diagnosed with leukemia and underwent chemotherapy at UIC Hospital in Chicago. On Aug. 5, Finley lost his battle. He is survived by his loving family and friends. We invite you to join us for a celebration of his life.

Monetary donations will be accepted and may be sent in care of Erica Columbi, the manager of C.J.’s Lounge.
