RiverHawks trade for pitcher

August 11, 2007 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – On Saturday, the RiverHawks picked up pitcher Ben Brockman from River City in exchange for a player to be named later and Rockford’s first-round pick in the 2008 Frontier League draft.

Brockman, a right-hander, had no record, no saves and a 3.07 ERA in eight relief appearances. To make room on the roster, the team released pitcher Frank D’Aversa. D’Aversa had no record, no saves and a 4.15 ERA in two appearances.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 15th season.
