August 8, 2007 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks, Chicago Rockford International Airport and Allegiant Air are teaming up to offer fans a chance to win prizes including free airfare.
Thursday’s 7:05 p.m. game at Road Ranger Stadium is “I Pledge Allegiant” Night, part of the airport’s effort to offer travelers two new destinations on Allegiant Air. RFD has sponsored a $2 discount on tickets to the ballgame, as well as free parking, by visiting the airport’s website.
RFD is attempting to land Phoenix-Mesa and Ft. Lauderdale routes in Rockford. To demonstrate the Rockford area’s level of support, RFD has a blog campaign at FlyRFD.com. Supporters are encouraged to write why they would want to travel to either destination. Each person who submits a blog will be entering into a drawing to win thousands of dollars in giveaways, including a family four pack of tickets to any Allegiant Air destination.
The coupon for the discounted admission and parking are available at Rockford Airport website. To receive a discount, the coupon must be presented.
The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 15th season. Advertising and ticket information is available by calling the box office at (815) 885-2255. Most games are broadcast live on WNTA (1330 AM) and the internet. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
