Get off the couch and catch some baseball

August 7, 2007 - LOVES PARK, Ill. - After hiding inside from torrential rains all week, tonight is a great time to quit being a couch potato and get out to the ballpark.

Tonight, the Rockford RiverHawks and the Kalamazoo Kings pick up their rain-delayed series with a pair of games at Road Ranger Stadium.

The teams will pick up where they left off at 5:05 p.m. Wednesday. The teams will complete Monday’s suspended game, which Kalamazoo leads, 1-0, in the bottom of the third. The regularly scheduled game, reduced to seven innings, will be played approximately 30 minutes following the end of the early game.

Wednesday is another edition of the Culvers/Rochelle Printing/Medicine Man “Hawks Go Hollywood” series. The first 1,000 through the gate will receive a RiverHawks movie poster inspired by the film “Bad News Bears.” Following the games, the movie will be shown on the stadium’s videoboard.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 15th season. Advertising and ticket information is available by calling the box office at (815) 885-2255. Most games are broadcast live on WNTA (1330 AM) and the internet. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
