RiverHawks, Kings postponed
« Back

August 7, 2007 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks have postponed their scheduled games Tuesday against the Kalamazoo Kings because of the extensive thunderstorms which pounded the region overnight.

The teams will pick up where they left off at 5:05 p.m. Wednesday. The teams will complete Monday’s suspended game, which Kalamazoo leads, 1-0, in the bottom of the third. The regularly scheduled game, reduced to seven innings, will be played approximately 30 minutes following the end of the early game.

The game originally scheduled for Tuesday will be made up as part of a doubleheader at 5:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1.

Petco/Forest City Dog Training Dog Days of Summer has been moved to 6:05 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, for the RiverHawks’ game against Southern Illinois. Fans are invited to bring their dog to the park. They’ll be treated to free water, doggie snacks and pooper scoopers. In addition, Forest City Dog Training will hold a pregame demonstration featuring some of its best students.

Wednesday is another edition of the Culvers/Rochelle Printing/Medicine Man “Hawks Go Hollywood” series. The first 1,000 through the gate will receive a RiverHawks movie poster inspired by the film “Bad News Bears.” Following the games, the movie will be shown on the stadium’s videoboard.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 15th season. Advertising and ticket information is available by calling the box office at (815) 885-2255. Most games are broadcast live on WNTA (1330 AM) and the internet. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
