Grizzlies, RiverHawks suspended in fifth

July 18, 2007 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – Wednesday’s game between the Gateway Grizzlies and Rockford RiverHawks has been suspended because of rain. Gateway led Rockford, 8-0, with a runner at second and two away in the top of the fifth when play was halted.

The teams are not scheduled to meet again this season. The game will not be completed and statistics will not count.

The RiverHawks visit Traverse City the next four nights. The series opener is at 6:05 p.m. CDT Thursday.

The RiverHawks return home Tuesday, July 24 for a 7:05 p.m. game against the Washington Wild Things. The Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest is at the stadium.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 15th season.
