June 17, 2007 - FORENCE, Ky. – Rockford needed seven pitchers in a 14-inning loss Saturday in Florence. Shaun Parker wanted nothing to do with the bullpen on Sunday.

The RiverHawks southpaw pitched his first complete-game of the season, as Rockford edged Florence 3-1 on Saturday night at Champion Window Field.

Parker (4-1) allowed just one run on six hits, picking up the second RiverHawks complete-game of the week. John Gragg went the distance in a 4-0 win at Chillicothe on Thursday.

Joe Anthonsen opened the game by drawing a walk. He promptly stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Brad Dutton hit a groundball back to Freedom starter Bill Konecny who threw home. The ball skipped away from the catcher allowing Anthonsen to score and Dutton to advance to second. Dutton would later score on a Roberto Valiente RBI single.

The ‘Hawks added another run in the second. With one out, Sean McFadden singled and advanced to third on a double from Anthonsen. McFadden would score on a Dutton groundout.

Konecny (0-1) lasted just two innings, allowing three runs, two of which were earned, on three hits.

Florence’s only run came in the third. Parker’s only wild pitch of the game scored Truman Marek.

Parker induced 18 groundball outs.
