RiverHawks place single-game seats on sale

April 16, 2007 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The wait is over for fans wanting to buy tickets for Opening Night, Danica Patrick’s visit, or to any other date on the Rockford RiverHawks’ home schedule.

Today, the RiverHawks begin individual-game sales. Tickets can be purchased at the team’s box office or at the team website. All seats that have not been sold to season-ticket or mini-season holders or to groups are now available on an individual basis.

Availability for individual dates is contingent on what seats remain.

“Although we had great success in increasing our season-ticket base, we have by far our best promotional schedule to date and there are plenty of great games to buy seats for,” general manager Josh Olerud said.

The first week of the season includes some major promotional nights. The home opener, 7:05 p.m. May 25, features a 2002 RiverHawks logo lapel giveaway for the first 1,000 fans, as well as fireworks following that night’s game against Windy City. The following night is RiverHawks Magnet Schedule Night. The team returns home to play Traverse City on May 29-30.

On May 30, Patrick, an auto racing star and Roscoe native, makes her second annual visit to the stadium. That night, the RiverHawks will play in jerseys inspired by her racing suit. The RiverHawks will hold an on-field auction immediately following the game, with proceeds to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Last year, the RiverHawks posted a team-record seven sellouts, including the stadium opener and the Patrick/MDA Night.

“We expect Opening Night and Danica to sell out fast, as they did last year,” Olerud said. “Our expectations for selling out those two nights are optimistic, with all the success we had on those two nights last year.”

Among regular promotions on this year’s 51-game home schedule are: the FatWallet.com Friday Night Fireworks series; Half-Price Monday (all concession prices are halved); Dollar Beer Night (all Thursday home games, as well as Wednesday games on June 6 and July 18); and several five-night series – throwback bobblehead dolls honoring RiverHawks greats, throwback logo lapel pins and the Hawks Go Hollywood poster/postgame movie series that mark the team’s fifth-anniversary season. The full promotional schedule is available at the team website.

Standard gametimes are 7:05 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 6:05 p.m. Sunday. Start times are subject to change.

The RiverHawks are the Western Division champions of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 15th season in 2007. The RiverHawks begin their sixth season on May 23 at Windy City. The home opener is at 7:05 p.m. May 25, when the RiverHawks host Windy City. Advertising and season-ticket information is available by calling the box office at (815) 885-2255. All games are broadcast live on WNTA (1330 AM). Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
