Playing the right "Cards"
« Back

October 20, 2006 - Kinney played with the Rascals in 2001 where he made an immediate impact winning his first professional start against the Dubois County Dragons pitching eight innings and striking out six. In his short stay with the Rascals organization Kinney struck out 18 batters in 21 innings and finished with a 1.71 ERA.

While in the Majors Kinney has continued to prove that he belongs. During Thursday night’s win over the New York Mets Kinney was calm and collective after falling behind early in pitch counts. Kinney worked 1 1/3 spotless innings to help the Cards advance to the World Series.

He becomes the 13th player in Frontier League history to advance to a major league team.
