August 16, 2006 - TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. – The Rockford RiverHawks blew leads of 2-0 and 3-2 to the Traverse City Beach Bums before falling to Al Roach's RBI-double in the 11th inning on Wednesday. The 4-3 loss ended the RiverHawks' season-long winning streak at five games.

Joe Anthonsen singled home a run in the third and Brad Dutton did likewise in the fourth to give Rockford the early lead.

But Brad Vericker had two singles to bring home runs to tie the score.

After Bo Flowers scored on a wild pitch in the eighth inning to once again give the RiverHawks an advantage, Vericker struck again, with an RBI groundout to tie the game in the bottom of the eighth.

The game remained tied at three until Jason James (1-1), who began the game as Rockford's designated hitter, gave up two walks and Roach's double to end the game.

Hunter Davis (4-2) pitched a scoreless top of the 11th to get his second win against the RiverHawks this season.

The two teams will play the rubber match of the series on Thursday. The game time is set for 6:05 CDT. Following the game, the RiverHawks will board a bus for Kalamazoo, the second stop on a three-city, nine-game road trip.
