RiverHawks lose sixth in a row, 6-1

August 9, 2006 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks’ losing streak is at six after a 6-1 loss to the Washington Wild Things on Wednesday at RiverHawks Stadium.

Chris Sidick was 4-for-5 with a home run and three RBI for the Wild Things.

Washington led all the way. Mike Arbinger singled in a two-out run in the first inning and Sidick did the same in the second inning.

Nick Johnson led off the Rockford second with his third home run of the season.

Rockford starter Shaun Parker (3-6) left after Jason Buchlotz’ leadoff single in the seven inning. Sidick made the score 4-1 with a line drive into the right-field beer garden off Adam Kroft.

Aaron Ledbetter (5-6) won his first start for Washington after River City dealt the all-star earlier this week. Corey Ohalek got Ledbetter out of a first-and-third, two-out jam in the seventh inning and finished for his third save.

Ledbetter gave up 10 hits, but the ‘Hawks left nine on base. The RiverHawks have been shut out twice and held to a total of five runs during the losing streak.

The series concludes at 7:05 p.m. Thirsty Thursday. Miller Lite and 104.9 – the X sponsor Dollar Beer Night.
