August 5, 2006 - CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – The Rockford RiverHawks have still not found a way to solve the pitching of the Chillicothe Paints. Luke Palmer became the second Paints' starter to give up just one hit in a complete game victory against the RiverHawks en route to a 6-0 Chillicothe victory on Saturday.

Perry Cunningham beat Rockford, 3-0, with a one-hitter on June 25.

Richard Quihuis-Bell provided the only offense for Rockford with a fifth-inning double. Only Joe Anthonsen in the second and Jake Bowen in the sixth also reached base for the RiverHawks, and those were via walks. Palmer (4-3) struck out a season-high eight in the game.

Derek Roper (4-5) started for Rockford; he gave up three runs in five innings. After two scoreless innings from Bobby Darling, Beau Massey walked the first two hitters he faced, then gave up a three-run home run to Adrian Cantu to provide the final margin of the game.

The RiverHawks have managed just one run in four games against Chillicothe this season. They have lost each contest between the teams thus far.

They will try to break that losing streak on Sunday in the second game of this three-game series. The game will start at 5:05 CDT.

The RiverHawks will return home on Tuesday, August 8, beginning a six-game homestand where they will take on Washington and Windy City. Tuesday will see the last Saturn of Rockford and Q98.5 Youth Clinic at RiverHawks Stadium this year, as well as the last Speed Dating Night, presented by Al Grace Appliance and B. Sanfield. It's also Loves Park Community Night. In addition, Clodius Jewelers sponsors the Diamond Dig, where a diamond will be hidden on the field with ladies in attendance having a chance to find it.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 10-team independent professional baseball league in its 14th season. Advertising, ticket and suite information is available by calling the box office at (815) 885-2255. All games are broadcast live on WRHL-FM, 102.3 – the Hub and online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
