June 29, 2006 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks’ offense bottomed out again on Thursday.

Tony Casoli pitched his third shutout of the season as Traverse City beat the RiverHawks, 4-0.

The Frontier League West-leading RiverHawks have dropped to .500 with their sixth loss in seven games. They have been shut out three times in the last week and held to less than four runs in five of the last seven games.

Casoli (5-1) pitched a five-hitter for his second shutout in a row, in front of 2,522 at RiverHawks Stadium. Rockford did not advance a runner beyond third base and did not have a man in scoring position after the seventh inning. Brad Dutton’s leadoff single in the fifth was Rockford’s last hit of the night.

Doug Garcia and Nick Batkoski homered for the Beach Bums. Garcia hit a solo shot to right-center off Joe Barbosa in the second inning to break a scoreless tie. Batkoski doubled a 2-0 lead with a two-run blast to left, his third of the season, in the eighth inning.

Barbosa (0-2) gave up two runs on six hits over 6 2/3 innings.
