RiverHawks open homestand tonight

June 20, 2006 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks are home for six games of unique promotions and family fun beginning tonight.

The Florence Freedom come in for three 7:05 p.m. games on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The Chillicothe Paints follow for games at 7:05 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 6:05 p.m. Sunday at RiverHawks Stadium.

Tuesday’s series opener features twin promotions – the Saturn of Rockford Youth Clinic at 5 p.m. and RiverHawks Speed Dating, sponsored by Al Grace Appliance and B. Sanfield, in the beer garden. Speed dating begins right after the national anthem.

On Wednesday, the ASK Campaign and B-103 sponsor RiverHawks T-Shirt Night. All giveaways are for the first 1,000 through the gate.

The series wraps up on Thirsty Thursday, when Miller Lite and 104.9 – the X sponsor Dollar Beer Night. In addition, Thursday’s Parrothead Night will feature a Jimmy Buffett tribute singer, a live parrot, $2 cheesburger and $3 margaritas.

Friday’s game is another date on the Fat Wallet.com Friday Night Fireworks series. RiverHawks Logo Baseball Night, sponsored by State Farm and WROK, comes up on Saturday. The homestand ends on Sunday with Family Night, sponsored by the Rockford Register Star and the Midwest Baseball Academy. Families can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs, four bags of chips and four soft drinks for $40.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 10-team independent professional baseball league in its 14th season.
