May 22, 2006 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks are inviting players who are not selected in June’s major-league draft to try out for a spot on their roster.
The RiverHawks will hold a postdraft tryout Monday, June 19 at RiverHawks Stadium. Registration is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. and players will take the field at 9:30 a.m. The registration fee is $20.
The team is primarily interested in players with prior experience in affiliated ball, or true rookies who had highly successful college careers.
Players will be evaluated by members of the RiverHawks staff.
The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 10-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 14th season in 2006. All games are broadcast live on WRHL-FM, 102.3 – the Hub.
