RiverHawks, Miller Lite kick off 2006 Bar Tour on St. Pat’s Day

March 16, 2006 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks will trade Columbia blue, navy blue and metallic silver for kelly green on Friday.

The RiverHawks and Miller Lite kick off the RiverHawks’ Bar Tour 2006 at 5 p.m. sharp on St. Patrick’s Day. Members of the RiverHawks’ front office, along with the Miller Lite girls, will celebrate the holiday with local spots fans at the Irish Rose, 519 E. State St. The opening tour finishes at O’Leary’s, 6246 E. Riverside in Loves Park, at 9 p.m., with numerous secret stops in between.

Just like last year, the RiverHawks will tour local bars with the Miller Lite girls each Friday until Opening Day to promote the upcoming season. Fans who visit the local pubs the ‘Hawks stop at will have the chance to win great RiverHawks and Miller Lite merchandise.

“We’re proud to team up with Miller Lite again this spring,” RiverHawks general manager Josh Olerud said. “I encourage all our fans to come join us at the local bars, whether they want to talk RiverHawks baseball or get an autograph from one of the Miller Lite girls.”

Each week, fans can visit the team website to find out the scheduled stops.

Opening Day at brand-new RiverHawks Stadium is 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, when the ‘Hawks host the Evansville Otters. The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 10-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 14th season in 2006.
