March 13, 2006 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks are open for business at RiverHawks Stadium.
The RiverHawks began the business week today in their new front office after transferring operations from the old Marinelli Field location last Friday and Saturday. The RiverHawks had been in that location since moving to the Rock River Valley from Springfield in November, 2001.
“This is a big day for the RiverHawks and the Rock River Valley in general,” RiverHawks general manager Josh Olerud said. “We look forward to opening our doors to our fans and sponsors.”
Full business operations are available at the RiverHawks Stadium office for both advertisers and ticket buyers.
Opening Day at brand-new RiverHawks Stadium is 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, when the ‘Hawks host the Evansville Otters. Currently, the only way to guarantee a seat for that historic evening is by purchasing a suite, season-ticket plan or 10-game mini-season plan.
RiverHawks Stadium is located just northeast of the Interstate 90/Riverside Blvd. interchange in Loves Park. From the interchange, take Riverside approximately ¼ mile east, turn left at Interstate Blvd. and continue north approximately ½ mile to the stadium parking lot. The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 10-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 14th season in 2006.
