Amateur 18 and over club hosting tryout Jan. 7

December 22, 2011 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks will host a tryout and informational meeting for their 18 and over adult club on Saturday, January 7 at 10 a.m. at Wallbangers Academy in Loves Park.

The tryout will be run by RiverHawks assistant coach and the 18 and over head coach Justin Small.

“I am looking for any community members who still have the drive to play competitive baseball,” Small said. “I am fielding an 18-man roster, and we’ll play an 18-game schedule next year.”

Of the 18 scheduled games, nine are set to be played on weekdays in Loves Park.

The 18 and over unpaid, amateur team will play in the Northern Illinois Men’s Adult Baseball League. The NIMABL is an 18 and over wood bat league that consists of 14 teams split evenly between two divisions. Other teams in the league include the Woodstock Del Toro’s, the McHenry Redbirds and the Huntley Diamond Jaxx.

The NIMABL is a member of the Men’s Adult Baseball League, which is a national organization with more than three thousand teams throughout the United States.
