Little 'Hawks program scheduled for November
« Back

October 20, 2011 - LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks will host their Little 'Hawks youth program for five through eight-year-olds at Wallbangers Academy in Loves Park every Sunday next month, beginning November 6 at 5 p.m.

Junior RiverHawks 15U head coach Justin Small is running the program, and he will be assisted by RiverHawks manager Rich Austin, hitting coach Pat O’Sullivan and 16U head coach Derek Barrone. The Little 'Hawks program is designed to teach the fundamentals of the game, and prepare kids for the next level of youth baseball.

The program will last four weeks with one hour sessions from 5 to 6 p.m. Registration is limited to 12 kids, and the cost is $40 per person. The price includes all four sessions.

“Kids will get a head start in learning the basics of the game through this unique program,” Small said. “We have four coaches working with only 12 kids, so there will be plenty of opportunity for one-on-one instruction for everyone who signs up.”

For more information and to sign up, contact Small at 815-980-6219 or e-mail [email protected].

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, an independent professional baseball league that will play its 20th season in 2012. Advertising and ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Fans can also visit www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
